March 21st we held our “Community meeting for the pan-Arctic network of Distributed Biological Observatories (DBOs)” in the beautiful St Leonard’s venue. It was the second joint DBO meeting organized* by all four sectors in the pan-arctic network; the Pacific, Siberian, Atlantic and Davis Strait/Baffin Bay DBOs.

Together with 54 participants onsite and online, representing 11 nations and almost 30 affiliations, we shared our latest news both in terms of scientific findings and aims, as well as organizational matters. With inspiring keynotes from Jackie Grebmeier (UMCES), Tom Kelly (UAF), Øystein Godøy (METno) and Amy Lauren (UAF) we started the discussion on our vision for harmonized data management and common science outreach. This vision will continue to be developed onward, and several items were added to our joint to-do list until ASSW2025. We’re looking forward to join efforts onward making this a strong pan-Arctic framework!
